During the Board of Peace meeting, he says the next steps will be determined within 10 days.
President Donald Trump chaired the first Board of Peace meeting on Thursday in Washington, D.C. During the meeting, he indicated that the next move regarding Iran should be determined in a little over a week.
“Now we may have to take it a step further, or we may not. Maybe we are going to make a deal. You will be finding out in the next probably 10 days,” President Trump said, leaving open the possibility of either diplomacy or military escalation.
The U.S. has been building up its military presence in the Middle East, with aircraft carriers, destroyers, refueling tankers, and fighter jets being deployed to the region. It is reportedly the largest assemblage of air power since the U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003.
After Special Envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, recently met for nuclear negotiations with Iranians in Switzerland, President Trump stated, “I don’t think [the Iranians] want the consequences of not making a deal.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to receive God’s wisdom as he considers options to address the situation in Iran.
- For officials in the president’s administration as they offer input and advice on the Middle East.
- For U.S. diplomats as they engage foreign ministers to discuss potential solutions to global conflicts.
